Southeast Asia is listed as one region that has a target of achieving zero emissions between 2050 and 2065. The Southeast Asia Energy Outlook 2022 notes that Southeast Asia's energy record has increased by an average of 3% per year over the last two decades, and this trend continues. until 2030 under the policy settings of each country's government. In this study, literature reviews development and renewable energy policies in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore chosen to be the main focus because these countries have relatively higher GDP and population compared to other ASEAN countries. Regulation is a related policy and governance towards the transition to new and renewable energy which is seen as more efficient, requires a strategically designed sequence of actions involving all policy level, from local to global. Therefore, an argumentative view is needed to determine the elements in future policies and regulations. This study aims to determine the key factors that shape the prospects for energy transition policies in the development of renewable energy in the ASEAN region in the future and to encourage the acceleration of the actualization of policies made.
