Abstract

The development of the current era requires learners to understand and preserve literature. Literature in learning such as short stories, fantasy texts, novels, poetry, historical stories, and so on.  Indonesian language learning today must pay attention to the content of the material contained in textbooks including literature learning. The purpose of this research is to find out the accuracy of literature in learning. The data source is a fantasy story in the kemendikbud class VII book. The research method uses qualitative description. The data is analyzed using the listening method and note-taking technique. The results showed that the fantasy text contained in the textbook is that there are several advantages that are in accordance with everyday life and disadvantages where there is no clarity so that students do not understand or are confused. The advantages of the fantasy text “Balls of Time” can make students to become confident children, help, respect parents, and not bully their friends. The disadvantage in the fantasy story is that there is no clear mention of the year in the story, so students become confused, namely the current year becomes 2022. The results of this literary work analysis research article are expected to add to the repertoire of knowledge that there are several fantasy stories in the Kemendikbudristek package book that make students confused or less understood according to their age development in grade VII SMP.
