Abstract

This research was carried out at the Tunas Gloria Christian Community Elementary School, Kupang City with the aim of finding out the use of the Problem Based Learning model in learning about the human respiratory system and its function to improve student learning outcomes in class V. This research uses the type of classroom action research (PTK) . The subjects in this research were class V with a total of 15 students (5 boys and 9 girls). Data collection techniques are observation, test and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques are quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results of the research showed that the data from observations of teacher activities in cycle I was 79.57% and cycle II was 97.72%, while the results of observations of student activities in cycle I were 64.16% and cycle II were 92.63%. . In cycle I learning, those who completed according to the KKTP were 10 people with a score of 72.66 (percentage 66.66%) while in cycle II who completed according to the KKTP were 14 people with a score of 86.33 (percentage 93.33%). Thus it can be concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes about the human respiratory system and its function in class V of the Tunas Gloria Christian Community Elementary School, Kupang City
