Abstract

Living a clean and healthy life is something that should indeed be applied in everyday life by the community as a way to maintain their health. Remembering health is important for every human being, starting from work and activities in daily life. Maintaining Cleanliness Oral hygiene is also included in clean and healthy living behavior or referred to as PHBS, which is a set of behaviors that are practiced on the basis of awareness as a result of learning from a person, family, group or community who are able to help themselves in the health sector and play an active role in realizing public health. .The problem that often arises in not implementing the PHBS program is among elementary school-age children. Given that school-age children are children who are prone to disease. Some of the diseases that school children suffer from include toothache and cavities. The most effective and simple way to prevent toothache and cavities is to brush your teeth at least 2 times a day and rinse your mouth after eating something. Brushing teeth and gargling after eating is one of the problems that often occurs in school-age children related to personal hygiene. School-age children are the most appropriate time to instill understanding and healthy living habits, especially brushing their teeth and gargling after eating. According to Natsir (2018) shows that the habit of brushing your teeth and rinsing your mouth will prevent dental and mouth problems in children or families if you apply brushing your teeth and rinsing your mouth every time you eat something in your daily life. This activity was held on January 16, 2023. The number of participants was 25 Class I Elementary School students at Nur Cahaya Private Elementary School, Medan Selayang. The results of the activity, namely the level of understanding of Class I elementary school students at Nur Cahaya Medan Private Elementary School about how to brush their teeth properly became very good as measured using a questionnaire and the ability to practice according to the material that has been given. Grade I elementary school students at Nur Cahaya Medan Private Elementary School were able to brush their teeth properly. This activity needs to be monitored periodically, so that it can reduce dental morbidity due to lack of attention to oral hygiene problems
