Abstract

The high number of dengue fever cases still requires attention to continue efforts to reduce them. The percentage of mosquito-free areas in Poncosari Village is 88%, which is still below the national target of 95% for freedom from the possibility of transmission. One of the efforts that need to be implemented to reduce the presence of disease vectors is the use of Aedes larvitrap traps with screening mesh as a control for Aedes larvae. The aim is to implement the research findings on 'Aedes Larva Traps using water screening mesh and to determine the effectiveness of breeding sites with screening mesh on the number of Aedes larvae obtained.  The method used is training. (Pembuatan formulasi air media, pembuatan dan pemasangan kassa screening pada konteiner, pelatihan pengamatan jentik). The results of the observation of container larvae inside the house showed that the presence of larvae was only found starting from the fourth observation, whereas the results of the observation of container larvae outside the house showed that the presence of larvae was found starting from the first observation. The number of larvae found in containers using well water media was higher compared to containers using formulated media. Containers with screening mesh can be made and utilized by the community as an alternative control method as larvitrap against Aedes (DBD vector). Containers with screening mesh using well water can serve as larvitrap from the first observation to the eighth observation.
