Abstract

This Real Work Lecture (KUKERTA) activity was carried out to prosper the community in Sungai Kelelawar Village through training in making aromatherapy candles made from used cooking oil. This service aims to increase the awareness of the Sungai Kelelawar Village community of the importance of good management of used cooking oil waste and provide skills in processing the waste into value-added products, namely aromatherapy candles. By involving the community, especially PKK women, the training on making aromatherapy candles was carried out using the socialization method on the environmental impact of used cooking oil waste and practicing the making of aromatherapy candles. In addition to producing economically valuable products, this activity also encourages the growth of awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. The results of the socialization showed an increase in community knowledge of the impact of using used cooking oil and is expected to increase family income, and create a cleaner and healthier village. In the long term, it is expected that various derivative products from used cooking oil, such as soap or natural cosmetics, can further increase the economic value of the village and preserve local culture.
