CHOKING MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR YOUNG DOCTORS AT BAKTI 2 PRIVATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MEDAN

Abstract

Emergency events are unpredictable and can happen anywhere and to anyone. Delays and errors in handling them can have very fatal and irreparable effects in subsequent actions. One of them is choking first aid which is one of the efforts that must be done immediately if someone finds a victim who needs it. Someone can choke if there is a foreign object, food or liquid that blocks the respiratory tract in the throat. This condition is usually fatal if not treated immediately. Therefore it is important to know the first aid steps for people who choke, namely by providing choking management training. The purpose of this activity is to carry out choking management training for little doctors at SD Bakti 2 Medan. This activity was held on December 3 2022. The number of participants was 24 little doctors at SD Bakti 2 Medan Private Elementary School. The results of the activity were that the little doctor's understanding of choking management increased to very good as measured by using a questionnaire and the ability to practice according to the material that had been given. The little doctors are able to treat choking properly. This activity needs to be monitored periodically, so as to reduce the death rate due to choking.
